FTC Disclosure:  I received a copy of this book from the Amazon Vine Program in exchange for an honest review.

The Shabbat Puppy by Leslie Kimmelman.

Good RThe Shabat Puppyeads Summary: Every Saturday morning Noah and Grampa take a walk, looking for “Shabbat shalom”–Sabbath peace–but Grampa will not let Noah’s noisy puppy Mazel come along.

I’m not familiar with Judaism and it’s observances, but I am always on the look out for books in this genre for my elementary school library.

This book is a well written and engaging story that will appeal to young readers of any religion.  The illustrations also make it an excellent book those who have not yet begun to read.

It’s a great story for grandparents to read with their grandchildren. This is a quick, engaging read and makes a nice addition to the children’s section of any library.
